Confidence threshold
Minimum score above which an AI system considers its prediction reliable.
📖 Full definition
Any AI model produces a confidence score between 0 and 1. Below a defined threshold (e.g. 0.8), the result is considered uncertain and may be rejected or flagged for review. The right threshold depends on context: safety (high), user experience (low).
💡 Concrete example
Look Like Me applies a 0.7 confidence threshold on face detection: below that, we ask the user for a sharper photo.
